8/5/2023 0 Comments Eversharp schick blades![]() ![]() So.we have a razor with Eversharp name and eagle under the baseplate, with a Schick logo on the tip - in a Schick case. ![]() īut next it gets odd.looking at the end tip we see this: Looking under the baseplate, sorry for the crummy iPhone photo, it has the eagle stamp and "Eversharp" name. īut why is it in a Schick labelled case? A mis-match? Maybe the owner was wrong about it being the original case? It's not as black as a regular Schick Krona so. the end of the razor sports an eagle mark as well.īut, when I received mine today, which was odd already as it came in a Shick branded case - which the seller claimed was original to the razor - the mystery thickened as only two of the characteristics above are on this razor.Ĭomplete with Schick branded blade case and instructions. under the baseplate it says Eversharp and has an eagle-mark, and You also don't have to worry about the blade angle as you do with a DE razor (since you shave with the razor's head pretty much flat against the face). An Injector will give you a close, comfortable shave with very little fuss. Normally this razor differs from a regular Schick "Krona" in that Schick does indeed still make blades, they are available from for example. That alone makes them different razors regardless of handle color. So I had intended to buy a grey, eagled Eversharp "Krona". You can see in the above pictures the exposure on the 2 I razors are vastly different for the blade. Vintage Eversharp Schick Injector Safety Razor w/ Blades Case Box. Schick Injector Blades, 7-Count Boxes (Pack of 4) 23.99. To prove my point take a black handle I1 which should be an I2 and see if the blade exposure matches on a J2 black handle. Vintage Schick Eversharp Injector Razors Plus Blades. My guess until further research which includes using them since I have the injectors but haven't shaved with them yet is the I1 white handle razors and J1 white handle razors are the same razor just offered with 2 handle options and the same with what I am calling the black handle I2 and J2 black handle. The I1 white handle razor heads including spring match the J1 and black handle one razor head matches the J2 so at a minimum those 2 should be reclassified as I1 for white handle with the spring with a hole in it and I2 for the black handle without the hole in the spring and the Hydro Magic reclassified as an I3. You can see the springs and handle colors are different for the J1 and J2 models yet the same designation wasn't made on the I1 white and black handles. Yeah but in that case it is a technique issue not razor design if all things are equivalent including choice of blade.Īt some point I'll do more research on it but based upon how the Schick alphabet designation was done it has some issues that need to be revised. The end results are that the I 55 definitely provided the closer shave, was more efficient and required less passes, provided audible feedback and was more maneuverable than the J. Also, a closer examination of the I 55 and J heads shows me that there is a slight difference in the head design. ![]() Rubbing both sides of my face, the I definitely gave me a closer shave. I did a ATG pass and that was all I needed except for a section of my neck that always requires a cleanup pass. I like that! I also had a slight “blade” feel with the I, very much like the E and G. I noticed an audible feedback out of the I that’s similar to what I get on the E and G models. I still like the DEs but the G1 gives a great 2-pass shave. The I 55 Shave was also smooth as I went WTG. I have a few vintage Gillettes and one Schick G1 and the G1 shaves as well or better than any of the Gillettes. No audible feedback was heard during the shave. Some whiskers were barely cut on my chin and neck, so a cleanup pass was required. ![]() I did a second pass ATG and it went smoothly, with no issues. At that time, it was the world’s only razor with automatic blade changer. The creation of the Eversharp Schick Injector Razor gave men who shaved back then a new, easy, and pleasant alternative in getting a closer, cleaner, and comfortable shave. The J was smooth and mild, on the WTG pass. Push, Pull, Click, Click with a quick, quick, Eversharp Schick. I did a side by side comparison shave using the Jon one side, and the I 55 on the other side. ![]()
